When we were little boys we wandered through the legendary nature of the Allgäu: In summer over the spacious meadows and down to the lively Mühlbach stream. Or by bike through the multifaceted Allgäu lake landscape and sometimes to Oberstaufen. In winter we couldn't wait to get into the snow – a real treasure on our high plateau. At that time, the natural paradise around Weitnau-Hellengerst was our natural home. Today we appreciate the good fortune of living here in the Allgäu. Escape from everyday life
Too good to be true? Truly not. On an Allgäu holiday, nature smiles at you – with beautiful views of the Allgäu mountains, the Swiss Alps and the Tyrolean Alps. Some of the hills around Hellengerst have such picturesque names as Jägerseckle, Schönberg or Sonneck-Höhe. Everywhere is a holiday. And during a walk in Weitnau you can even relax with a view of the "Himmelwiese". Whether golfing, cycling, hiking or cross-country skiing – you will always enjoy heavenly impressions here in the Allgäu. Everyday life is far behind you.
Summer holidays in Allgäu
In summer the numerous natural lakes and ponds in the Allgäuer Seenland are fascinating. On hot days they offer a perfect chance to cool off with their clear water. Frank recommends the Eschacher Weiher in the neighboring village of Buchenberg with its wonderful mountain view. Further bathing spots are e.g. at the Niedersonthofener See, called Nieso by the locals.

Events in summer
On the 1st of May in many places in the Allgäu, the maypole is celebrated with music and traditional costums - also in Weitnau, Wengen, Rechtis and Sibratshofen.
Summer is festival time at Lake Constance: reserve a ticket for the Bregenz Festspiele for your holiday, approx. 1 hour's drive away.
A highlight in late summer are the numerous cattle drives in the Oberstaufen region and in Oberstdorf such as the Staufener Viehscheid.
Winter holidays in Allgäu
In winter our golf course changes and turns into a a wonderful cross-country ski run directly at the hotel. It is one of many cross-country skiing opportunities in the region.
The first lifts are only 10 km away for alpine skiing. Apart from cross-country ski runs and slopes, you can also enjoy the treasures in the Allgäu region while snowshoeing or on a winter hike.

During the Advent season, the Allgäu Christmas markets entice you to stroll – including the Christmas market in Kempten, the castle Christmas in nearby Isny or the adventure Christmas market in Bad Hindelang.
The ancient custom tells us that the Nikolaus is accompanied by very loud and scary figures on the "Klausentreiben" on December 6 in order to scare away evil winter spirits – even in Weitnau.
What excitement can be found at the ski jumping tournaments in Oberstdorf only 45 km away! Experience the start of the world-famous Vierschanzentournee (Four Hills Tournament) at the end of December.

Train here on the stepper, the treadmill or the ergometer with a view of the caddy hall and the first tee. Fitness training is even possible around the clock at the Hanusel Hof. The fitness room is accessible with your key card.
